Rapidly growing band announce UK tour and debut release.

"Remember me as a rocketman, burning up his fuse up here alone"

We are Flying Hearts, an indie rock duo based in the South of England. After our singer/songwriter, Joe, lost his best friend at just 28 years old, he went on a songwriting spree, spitting out a tribute to his friend 'Bury Me in England', as well as the powerful tracks Imagine, Gangster Lies and Save The Date.

His songwriting highlights issues with the world we live in right now. From suicide, to forced gang activity, to corrupt and greedy governments and frustration with society. â€‹â€‹

Born from the ashes of punk's distortion and the discovery of acoustic melodies, Flying Hearts are an indie-rock duo that redefines the genre's boundaries.

Joe Wenman (vocals) on the new single, Bury Me In England: "I wrote the song shortly after my friend's funeral this year. He was only 28. I was and still am heartbroken. I hope this song provides comfort and explanation to anyone out there who has lost someone too young".

Flying Hearts are a duo made up of Joe Wenman who writes the songs, and Joe Swift on lead guitar and backing vocals. The journey really began in their school days, roaming the corridors of Toynbee School together, near Southampton, rollups in pockets and sporting Green Day sweatbands.

The lads love of music led them to skip classes, losing themselves hidden away in the music department, crafting songs on drums and guitars. While this may have hurt their GCSE results, it ignited a lifelong love for music that would eventually bring them back together.

Upon the death of Joe's friend, Flying Hearts were really born with the creation of heart wrenching song 'Bury Me In England'. Fed up with a system that leads to so much young death, depression and boredom, Flying Hearts chose to break free and start a new revolution for followers of any age. â€‹

The Flying Hearts movement has been steadily building an enthusiastic following, with gig bookings confirmed in legendary venues such as The Joiners (Southampton), The Macbeth (London) and The Fleece (Bristol). Flying Hearts aim to impress with their poetic, punky songs and chaotic, raw energy.

Frequently compared with The Libertines bromance of Pete and Carl, the Joe's perform with love and gratitude towards each other. They take a lot of influence from The Libertines, but also from other bands like Oasis, Green Day, Blur, Wunderhorse and Fontaines DC.

The duo's much-anticipated debut EP, “Bury Me In England,” is out now, released on the 8th of November 2024. Featuring just two guitars, two voices, and an abundance of passion, this four-track masterpiece, recorded and produced by Ant Clark and mastered by Andy Baldwin of Metropolis Studios, London, promises to make a bold statement.
