ABOUT THE BAND
Born from the ashes of punk’s distortion and the discovery of acoustic melodies, Flying Hearts are a Southampton-based indie rock five-piece delivering raw energy, heartfelt lyrics, and unforgettable live performances.

After lead singer and songwriter Joe Wenman lost his best friend at just 28, he went on a songwriting spree, creating the emotional tribute Bury Me in England alongside powerful tracks like Imagine, Gangster Lies, and Save The Date. These songs tackle loss, societal frustration, and personal struggle, striking a chord with listeners everywhere.

Originally an acoustic duo, the band evolved into a full five-piece, now featuring:
-
Joe Wenman – Lead vocals, acoustic guitar
-
Joe Swift – Lead guitar, backing vocals
-
Jake Docherty – Guitar/keyboard, backing vocals
-
To Be Announced – Bass
-
To Be Announced – Drums

The band’s journey began with the two Joes roaming the halls of Toynbee School in Southampton, roll-ups in pockets and Green Day sweatbands on their wrists. Jake joined in late 2024, adding harmonies and keyboards, and the rhythm section completed the lineup, creating a full, electrifying live sound.

Their debut EP, Bury Me In England, released 8th November 2024, was recorded by Ant Clark and mastered by Andy Baldwin at Metropolis Studios, London. With passion, intensity, and melodic power, the EP laid the foundation for their next chapter: a full-band album currently in the works.

Frequently compared to The Libertines, Frank Turner, Blur, and The Cure, Flying Hearts bring love, passion, and chaotic energy to every stage, captivating audiences across the UK.
